September 2003 - Logon takes an active part in the
OKO project, which is introducing open source and free programming tools
into education institutions. The Ministry of Education, Science and Sport
in collaboration with educational institutions, the Institute of Education,
Universities in Ljubljana, Maribor and Koper, the Government Centre of
the Information Science, the Ministry of the Information Society, the
Association Lugos and independent professional collaborators, have enabled
the issue of CDs and the foundation of a repository in the framework of
project OKO. The main problem for the usage of open source programming
tools is that the knowledge base in education institutions is low. For
this reason the fundamental task of the OKO project is first to educate
teachers; that they are allowed to use open source programmes and didactic
applications founded on the open source principles. You may obtain additional
